For many people struggling through life with vision problems, LASIK eye surgery can be a perfect solution. A complete, 1-hour evaluation with Clear Advantage is the only way to determine if you are a candidate for LASIK. Since corneal tissue has no regenerative ability, LASIK is considered a Life-Long procedure. You could reduce or eliminate your need for distance glasses for life!
LASIK surgery is the obvious choice for many people suffering from vision problems. If you are signed up for the treatment, then it’s time to start planning for the big day. Follow the guidelines below to make sure you are well prepared for the day of your LASIK surgery.
Stop Wearing Your Contact Lenses
You should stop wearing your soft contact lenses at least five to seven days before your LASIK eye surgery and before your comprehensive evaluation. You should be wearing only glasses during this period.
Don’t Apply Makeup
On the day of your appointment, be sure not to wear any makeup to the LASIK surgery. Eye makeup should be avoided one week after surgery as well.
Arrange for Someone to Drive You Home
Although most patients are amazed with how well they see immediately after surgery, the LASIK procedure will leave you with slightly blurred vision for a few hours You should arrange to have someone drive you home from the appointment. You will need to be seen for a follow up appointment the day after your procedure, but you should be able to drive yourself to that appointment and return to normal activities, including work, that day!
